The Ghost Runner League

Living abroad allowed me to witness not only the enormous presence of a global American culture, but the forced identity that Americans wear. I navigate through regional stereotypes and legacies, historical ties, and artifacts of Americana to bridge gaps between individual identity and the larger understanding of American culture. I use baseball as the pure symbolization of America. The history of the sport is important to me, not necessarily describing the history but just its vast presence. Theres historical and cultural implications that produce memory, or more importantly, the romance of memory. I am interested in the blurred line between what we believe to be romantic and what we want to believe to be romantic. What we believe represents American culture and what we want to believe is American culture.
